Does anybody know where I can get a hold of the ready mag system?   I've googled the hell out of it and can't seem to find a web sight.  Plenty of links to airsoft crap come up selling the ready mag  spare magazine accessory but I'm interested in the battery assist device.  Thanks ahead for the info.

For the Redi-mag I can't help ya, haven't looked into getting one so haven't done any research on it.

The BAD on the other hand I've been reading up on lately.  Magpul has a 15 page thread in their industry forum, cliff notes is they are not saying when or if they will be releasing it anytime in the near future.

Because of this a couple folks have started marketing their own versions to fill the void, more info can be found in the following thread.

$175 to carry ONE extra mag!

Damn, that's like 7 of the Safariland mag couplers, or 4 of the Firebird P-Mag couplers, no thanks.  With the doublers, you'de get a redimag type reload every other mag change instead of once and done.

Your missing the point of the redi mag/mod. Its not that it carry's one mag. It puts in on the weapon, and makes reloads very fast. Mag couplers that I have used are crap.

Its not for everyone, but if you want to make your reloads faster, and have more rounds on the gun, its the answer.

Also, if you have a redi-mag and you only use it for the first reload, your training needs to be adjusted to feed the redi-mag once you get a lull in the fight.

But yet you have more useless posts in this thread than anyone.

I never thought about one until I saw Travis use his on the video. I had to admit, it was pretty smooth, but I would like to make my current rifle lighter.

Down the road I want build or buy a 10.5" barreled 6.8 and I think I will get one for that.

I have that redi mod or at least something similar.  It came with the 20" AR I bought used.  I took it off, it's sitting in my parts box.
It added weight & bulk & made access to the bolt release difficult.

That's not a redimag... That's a BAD. Bolt Assist Device...

MagPul has a prototype, but they aren't producing it yet (ever?).

It is probably something released to people "in the loop" for trials, or it could be home made. Several have been made at home by a few ARFCOMers with machining skills.

From the origional post...

Which is why I posted the link to a BAD discussion which includes contact infor for two people making versions of the BAD.  It is also why I corrected the gentleman who pointed towards Brownell's which only carries an extended bolt catch lever, not a BAD style lever.  I am well aware of what a Redi-mag is.

Maybe highlighting a key component of the origional post will clear things up for Kev as well.

Couplers are clumsy and not practical.  Why would you want a mag with the feedlip end exposed hangin of your gun?  The Redi-mag/redi-mod securly hold the mag with the feed lip end covered.  Also when you drop the empty mag and feed the one from the redi you don't have an empty stuck to your fresh one now.  You can also grab an extra mag from your gear and insert it into the redi when you get a chance so another full mag is on standby.  You really can't carry a bunch of coupled mags on you.  to bulky, impractical.

Maybe I'll give one a shot just for chits and grins.

Here's the origional, $79 is a whole lot easier to swallow for it.  To lighten it should be pretty easy, lil time with a drill and grinder and it's good to go.  Even if it takes an hour, that's $100 worth of difference.
