probably somewhere in the archives, but wife got a new digital food scale and i weighed some ar mags.  here's what i've weighed so far:  (wts are in ounces)
- 20 rd pmag = 3.6
- 30 rd pmag = 5.3 (w/ window)
- 30 rd pmag with ranger plate = 5.4
- 30 rd D&H alum = 4.0 (blk teflon coated)
- 30 rd pmag loaded with 30 rds of rem 55 gr fmj = 17.7  (or 1 lb 1.7 ounces - and if you are loading 8 mags on your gear thats close to 9 lbs loaded)

above pmags were with their standard base plates unless otherwise stated.   I have some other mags i'll weigh as well and will add later.  the results confirmed what i felt when i handled pmags and aluminum mags - that is the alum are and feel lighter (i'll weigh them with ranger plates too later).   a bit surprised the pmag with ranger plate wasn't a tad heavier than .1 ounce - basically no difference when you replace the std plate.

just thought i'd share
