| I am fairly new here ,but not to AR type rifles. I need help with something and am almost too embarrassed to ask. I am in the process of refurbishing and rebuilding all of my old 20 and 30 round magazines. I have the parts I need to do this on hand but have run into a problem. Let me say ,all of my mags are G.I. issue type, mostly Colt. While have had them apart many times for cleaning, this is my first experience with the anti-tilt followers that I am wanting to use in redoing these mags. My dumb and embarassing question; is there a trick or a certain procedure for getting the anti-tilt follower into the mag body? Maybe I'm missing something but , I'm having one helluva time trying to do it without damaging the mag body. Maybe this will qualify me to sit in the corner with a DUNCE cap on my head ,but I was hoping someone will offer some advice. I went through the Magazine forum pretty good and did not see an answer to my question so I thought I'd try a post on this subject. Sorry for the long post and I want to thank in advance those that respond. |

If you're tring to put the green GI-type anti-tilt, you have to knid of "wiggle" them in there. (Magpuls just slide in) Do not force them. |

Quoted: GI 20's have a tab at the bottom that retains the floorplate.http://i371.photobucket.com/albums/oo153/shvrider/000_0002.jpg This... just takes up too much space. They are totally unnecessary in 20 rounders... the curve of the 30 is what causes problems. |
| Thanks guys for responding, I did forget to mention that it was the 20 round mags I was having a problem with. The followers I have for them are the orange ones from C Products.I was asking because the only way I could see to do it using this follower would be to bend the spring latch that locks the floor plate in place, and that doesn't sound like a good way to do it. But again, thanks for your comments and help. |

Quoted: If these are the old straight 20s, those aluminum followers are good to go as is. Just save these "no tilts" for any other curved mag (20 or 30rd) that you get later. PS: In case no one said it, Welcome to the forum! I concur, welcome. The aluminum followers are awesome... no need to change those. |
