I recently purchased some Magpul followers to replace the ones that I had.  I was able to replace them in all of my mags except for one of them.  The bottom of the mag has a cover that will not come off.  It doesnt appear to have any clips on the outside of it.  Here are a few pics.  Just looking to get the bottom off.   This came with my bushmaster when I bought it.

I got a 10rounder like that when I bought mine a few years back. I almost broke it trying to get it off so I just threw it in a box and didn't mess with it again.

Damn it!!  Well thanks for the info.  I was hoping that it was possible.  What is holding it inside?

does anything happen when you push in those two round buttons on the sides?

Some H&K pistol mags had a funky system where you had to push in the two tabs on the sides, and the floorplate would pop out.

I cant get those button looking things to move.  I would think that they should push in.  Other then that I have no idea what is wrong with this thing.

are not those mags made so you can not do that, i.e. take the bottom off so you can mess with the number it can hold?

Maybe.  All I want to do is replace the crappy follower in it.

I just looked at mine and those are not buttons, they are some kind of rivet.

I guess I will just cut my loses with this one.  Who makes a mag with rivets.  Unreal!!

I agree with you. I am thinking that's why it has rivets. I bought my Bushmaster in 2001 and that's what came with it.

I broke mine trying to get it apart, those are not rivets it is a soild steel bar, if you look at the bottom there is a little indent that is covered with some epoxy or somthing if you drill that out it is a pin that holds the other bar from moving.  Once you drill the bottom pin out the other slides out and you can pull everything out and do with as you please. It is at work so I cant take any pics sorry.

ETA. modded the OP pic to kinda show where it is, ie little red circle.
