Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but the search function isnt working for me...
Is it okay to leave AR mags fully loaded?  I have a few CProducts mags and want to know if its okay to leave them fully loaded.
A friend of mine told me its NOT okay to leave the mags fully loaded, it will mess up the spring somehow?  Is that true?  Or can
I leave my mags loaded and stored away without any negative effects on the spring and so forth.  thanks in advance.

Nothing is gonna happen to the spring.  Your feed lips on the other hand..

Sorry, I am a noob, what do you mean by "Your feed lips on the other hand..."?

Springs wear out or lose their "oomph" from compression expansion cycles.
So leaving them loaded will have no detrimental effect on the spring life.

I think the poster above is alluding to pressure on the feedlips from being loaded over a long time somehow distorting the feedlips.
I've never heard this before.
In fact it may help protect the feedlips by providing support from underneath against denting.
Metal fatigue is caused by repeated bending back and forth which develops micro cracks and ultimately stress cracks to the point of failure.
I don't think a static situation with a compressed spring should damage anything.

I'd advise you to ensure your springs are clean and well lubricated.  This will prevent corrosion during extended storage.

lubed springs? I have never done that before, heard it builds up dirt and grime easier

the search function has nothing to do with spending some time and going through the pages of this forum ( and others )
and LOOKING at the threads that are already posted ( this subject has been covered to death )

Store mags with Stainless Steel Springs.

If you have CS springs use those in everyday, but they will develop a light coat of rust in storage.

storage ? hell they come rusted when you get them. that's my concern with them is that while compressed and
already rusted, that it will fuse into one nice block-o-rust. I don't buy the 'will develop surface rust only' BS.
