Most of the mags I own are blued, for various rifles and pistols. Nearly all my AR mags are aluminum and have a very rough finish to them. Is it necessary, or even a good idea, to "season" them. I take them apart, then oil lightly inside and out, let sit over night and wipe nearly dry. It seems to enhance the finish and (I think), make them work better. What do you guys think?

Thanks

you do NOT want any oil inside your mag's, at all.

What do you mean "rough"?

As long as they work, don't do anything to them. If they don't work, it isn't because the finish is "rough".

Oil is very bad... it collects dust and dirt.
