When I remove a new P-Mag from the plastic baggie, I pop  the cover and put it back in and throw it with the rest in my do-dad box

Seriously, how important is it to use the cover? I want to keep one loaded in my “go to m4” but I’m worried about “feedlip creep” because of the instructions that came with the mags. I normally use standard USGI mags so I’m not used to polymer. I’d hate to grab my rifle and it not go bang because of “feedlip creep”.

Has anyone kept one fully loaded without the cover for a considerable amount of time?

Magpul, what do you say?

polymer will not creep at the same rate regular USGI mags would. and even if you were using USGI mags you could keep them fully loaded for a LONG time!!! so i wouldnt even worry about creep on a PMAG unless it will be loaded for like 50 or so years!

You wont experience any feedlip creep on a mag in the gun.  When you put the mag in, the bolt puts down pressure on the first round which alleviates all pressure on the lips.
