Gentlemen,

I just purchased another Colt 20 round mag from a local store and it has a black plastic follower. I have an old beat up 20 rounder that no longer functions, should I remove the aluminum follower from the dead mag and replace the plastic follower on the new guy? Or is this just OCD wasted effort and the plastic will serve me just as well?

The black plastic ones work fine.  Save that aluminum follower, though, just in case.
