| I was just wondering what everyone's procedure for checking new mags was. I just got in some PMags and have some Okays coming. So far all I have done w/ the PMags is stick them in to check fit and then check that they will drop free. Before I store them away I think I will take them each out and fire 30rds in all of them to make sure they will feed correctly. That being said, what does everyone else do to check new mags before storing? |

This is what I do with each new magazine.
Visually check the magazine for defects. Fully compress follower with ruler to check for binding. Manually load and unload (with a LULA) Check that the magazines drop free empty and loaded in my tightest fitting lower. The magazine is then loaded to full capacity and left to sit loaded for at least 60 days. Fire the rounds that heve been in the magazine for the last 60+ days. Load and fire 5 rounds. Load and fire 2 rounds. Load and fire 1 round. The magazine must feed properly, lock the bolt back and drop free when empty every time. |
