Well there's a certain way you tilt the followers which usually works but some can be a bit contrary about it. When that happens, just gently rattle them around by hand until the follower itself just gets the right position and angle and they'll easily come out. Sometimes it can be a little bit like some funky chinese puzzle. |
Wow  I can't imagine how you did that, it's very simple...even a caveman can do it. |

Could some one please tell me how to replace the spring and follower in an aluminum 30 round GI magazine. Thanks! It does make sense, C Products in a LaBelle magazine, just doesn't work.  Kidding.Simply take a small tipped screw driver and insert it under the tab of the floor plate and gently lift it and pull towards you. make sure as you do this to keep a finger on the spring. When the floor plate is off remove the old spring and follower. Insert the tab of the spring into the hole at the bottom of the follower and insert into the magazine. The anti-tilt followers are made to just go in with nothing other than to drop them in. Push the spring down and put the floor plate back on. Go to the range and have fun.  Larry C Products |

Uhhhh not to be picky, but if you just press the little release notch, you don't have to bend the front part up with a screwdriver. Works much better than prying it apart.

I had the same problem and never could get the new follower to go in. My mags are different from those pictured. Riveted on the inside (parallel to the spring front and shaped like an "L") is piece of steel that is apparently designed to prevent the follower from coming out. I was able to get the old follower out by twisting and turning it, but there is no possible way to get the anti-tilt follower in past the lip of the "L". I could remove this troublesome piece of steel by drilling out the tiny rivets, but that creates an additional problem. The tip of the "L" is also what holds the foot plate in place. The foot plates are Colt, but as there are no Colt markings on the mag itself I'm doubtful they are genuine. |

You are correct, I noticed the UI markings when I was fighting with it. I reassembled it and will continue to use it as a range mag (it feeds great, but does not lock the bolt back reliably when empty -- the other 2 20rd UI mags I have work just fine) Thanks! Mac |
| See that little hole near the end of the floorplate? Stick a small screwdriver or something in that hole and gently pry up the end of the floorplate just enough so the little locking tabs will clear the end of the mag. Now slide the floorplate off. Wiggle the spring out. |
