I've been shopping for 6.8SPC Magazines, i want to get 25 round mags. PRI seems to be one of the only 6.8 magazine around when i look online. And they are expensive, i'm assuming because it's a Special Pourpose Cartridge and it's rather new. But does anyone know where to find good quality 6.8 mags? And does anyone know if they make any 30 round 6.8 mags? Think i'll look at the Gun Show down in Houston this weekend.

Putting soulja's remark aside, C Products makes a great stainless steel 6.8 magazine at a price way less than anyone else. And they are 100% guaranteed. www.cproductsllc.com

I have 6.8SPC mags from CP, PRI & Barrett.  The PRI and Barrett are the most expensive and they are nice but the CP mags are the best bang for the buck IMO.  My understanding is that the first batch/initial CP mags had some feeding issues in some guns.  Those issues could be fixed by tweaking the mag lips.  However, the mags since then and current mags from CP DO NOT HAVE THAT PROBLEM.  Many people still rag on CP mags for feed issues but the issue was fixed by altering the angle by a degree or two.  All of my CP mags run 100%.  One area that the PRI and Barrett mags are better/different is if you handload they will take a slightly longer OAL, close to 2.300"  Bear in mind that the initial Barrett mags were made by PRI but I believe Barrett does them in-house now.  Barrett is also the only one making true 30 round mags, but keep in mind they are about an inch longer than a standard 5.56 30 rounder.  30 round "size" mags take 25 rounds and the 20 round "size" hold 17 IIRC.  I have all three brands but mostly CP mags just due to cost.  $17 for a mag is hard to beat.

I have Cproducts mags.
Total of 11 some are early version and some are new.
The only time I've had feeding issues is with ammo never the mags.
I also have 12 more on order with more to follow.

+ 1

I have both CP and PRI. Both work very well for me. I wouldn't hesitate to use either in my 6.8 SHTF weapons.

I have a couple of the very early 6.8 CP mags and did "tweak" the feed lips upward slightly so that they would reliably feed the old discontinued blunt tip SSA X-Treme rounds. (not SSA combat rounds, they use a different bullet) I bought a couple thousand of the X-Treme rounds cheap because my Ko-Tonics uppers will eat them like candy with no pressure signs. I still shoot them all the time with both CP and PRI mags. No problems.

IMHO the combination of the old X-Treme round and some very early CP mags is where most of the reliability "questions" come from. My old CP's fed everything else reliably right out of the wrapper. After I tweaked the feed lips upward just a bit they were completely reliable with even X-Treme bounds.

All the 6.8 CP mags I've bought in the last several months have fed everything including X-Tremes with no problems.

CPs are good to go as are PRI. PRI cost twice as much. I buy CPs now.

YMMV
