I have a chance to pickup about 150 of these at a very good price; are they any good (quality-wise) or should I avoid them? They are used but appear to be in very good shape.

I bought 5. 2 would drop free and 3 wouldn't in my Bushmaster. Your mileage may vary. I tried 5 Thermolds after that and all were 100%.

I bought 10 of these during the hi-cap ban and only used them for range work. They were not reliable with 30 rounds loaded, so I usually just loaded 25 rounds. YMMV. Unless they were selling for under $5, I would skip any deal. I quit using mine after the high-cap ban and now they are collecting dust.

Just my .02

I have 100 of them.  Not all drop free.  They have all been 100%.  I took them all apart, put them in the dish waher, let them dry and sprayed PTFE dry lube in the body before reassembly.

Be very careful as alot of these have the feedlips spread and cracked at the back of the mag.

I can't remember the code but I think it is 17 or something. If the number is 17 or above they will drop free and latch in lowers other than Colt. If the number is below 17 (or whatever the number is) they will probably not lock up or drop free in a non Colt lower.

Has to do with the angle of the chanfer for the mag well.

They were designed for one time use then to be discarded.

They are good to go for range use.  I would not use them for more than that.  I had a few that broke into pieces when I drop the mag, but that was on concrete.

I have an 02 code that works great in my DPMS lower. Less wobble than USGI and has been more reliable so far. I'm going to take the chance and get more I think.

The code(s) I found ranged from 0/2 to 0/9 that were a tight fit; after that the chamfer for the magwell seal was lowered 1/32". BTW, I've gone through about 60 of 163 total and 31 are too worn to be safe. Caveat Emptor....

Orlites SUCK.

I have had some good luck but mostly bad luck.  If you can get them for $3.oo each...  and you need Lt. duty magazines then they are fine.  If it were me I would not buy them.  I would buy PMAGs instead.

I bought ten I think during the ban from cdnn used for $5 each I think. They were all reliable except occasionaly wouldnt lock the bolt back when empty, and none would drop free from my two AR's I had at the time ( both built on olympic stripped lowers which are known to have tight magwells ). As has been posted, ok for range mags but spring for usgi mags for serious work.

The post about them being single use mags is new to me though. It would explain a lot
