Where can you buy NEW or near new Okay mags and what is the going price for them? Of all the mags I've ever used, they seem to be the most reliable. I found a guy up here in Alaska that has a whole stash for sale, but at $24.95 each that's seems a little excessive. Thay are packaged in white boxes with gov't markings on the box. They have the Green followers and are Brand New. Anyone know where to get them for a better price?? |
|
go to www.buylci.com/ . Use the preview/shop as a guest entry(on the left hand side of the page). In the search form put in "1005009215004". A 30 round OKAY magazine will come up at $11.74. OKAY IND. is the maker of the brand you are seeking. No extra $$$$ for shipping. It is built into the price for the 48 states. |

Got my mags today, fast shipping, very Good quality mags, nice seams and welds, better than the preban Labelle's I have, all fit and feed well. they have a copper wash spring does that mean that they have steel spings (chrome silicon s6teel alloy?) one minor complaint they were shipped loose without any packaging, there is some scuffing of the finish from the mags rubbing on each other, no biggie. |
| Got the ones I ordered and also the worst packed stuff I believe I have ever been shipped. Big box, five mags, and a little piece of bubble wrap all banging around loose in a big box. Plenty of rub marks on the outside but the mags are typical well made Okay mags. |
I must have got the last piece of bubble wrap they had

yes green followers, Okay is a current contrat for the military and have been since the 70's, they are also make the colt mags, Ammoman has some pictures up for the Okay mags he is selling, see below, some minor diffrences 1 the ones I got from LCI were dated, 11-04, the ones pictured on ammoman are 2-06 2, the mags from LCI come as just a brae mag, ammomans come individually boxed but despite packaging they still look scuffed, 3, the stamping of the floor plate on the 2-04 mags looks much sharper http://www.ammoman.com/images/ARGREENOK-1.jpg http://www.ammoman.com/images/ARGREENOK-2.jpg http://www.ammoman.com/images/ARGREENOK-3.jpg http://www.ammoman.com/images/ARGREENOK-4.jpg more pictures and a comparison to other mags seen here , (read the whole thread) |
I believe his weren't purdy like the D&H ones. Also the 30 yo gunshow mags come in at a more premium price, not 11.74.
|
Correct, the ones that I received look pretty beat. |
How many did you order and receive? |
|
Dry film lube, which is the mil spec for those mags, is not that durable. It is a lubricant, not a permanent finish. When the M16 mag was first designed it was considered to be a disposable/consumable item. It was only the AWB that made us want mags to last forever. Pick up a can of Moly Disulfide Dry Lubricant at an industrial supply store. It comes in a number of brands too numerous to list. Many are the mil spec gray. Many will even list the correct mil spec number on the can. A light spray of dry lub and it will look like new. Until next week. Sorry, that's all you get. |
All of the magazines that I own have the dry film finish. The NHMTG, Brownells, and Cproducts all had some blemishes due to handling and testing and that is to be expected; but the Okay mags from LC Industries arrived with only about a fifty percent of the original finish. My comment about them looking like gunshow mags was no exaggeration. I really don't care about finish wear as long as I'm the one wearing it out. It's not unreasonable to expect an item sold as a new product to arrive looking at least as new as similar products sold by other vendors. |
Do you have any pictures of the mags you are talking about? I am curious to see what they look like. |
|
I ordered 5 mags from them 2 weeks ago. They arrived today in a large box, wrapped in bubble wrap. The finish is slightly worn, but not enough to bother me. However, one mag has a 1 1/4" cut in the front of the mag. It appears that a pair of tin snips was used to destroy this mag. How someone could wrap mags in bubble wrap and not notice this damage is beyond me. I contacted CS by email tonight about this problem and hopefully will get this fixed. Scott |

![]() That would sufficiently explain why he did not notice the damage! |
|
Well hopefully the finish will be OK. I am not too worried about the finish, I just want them to have a good fit and function properly. Have you tried rubbing some CLP on the body of the mag and then wiping it off with a shop rag? I have some Center Ind. mags that were new in wrap, but had some handling marks on them and wiping CLP on them made them look perfect. Just a suggestion. |
I didn't know about the blind part, but I did phrase it right. Even a blind person should have been able to feel that the mag was not right, unless they are double amputees also. I guess this would explain the finish wear also. |
Just a follow-up. I received the mags yesterday by FedEX. The mags were wrapped in shrink wrap. The mags are dated 9-05 and are in excellent shape! There are some "handling" marks on them but nothing serious(just like any other dry moly finish). I rubbed some CLP on the mag body and then wiped it of with a shop rag and they look pretty damn good. I am very pleased with my purchase. Now I haven't test fired them yet, but they all drop free and I am sure they will be fine. The welds are perfect and clean compared to my C Product mags. If I had to list the order of my mags by quality I'd say it would be Okay/Center Ind., D&H, Parsons, Adventure Line, then C Products. |

I just got in 10 from LCI, and they looked like the ones RavenTai posted. Many USGI mags I have purchased were individually packed in a sealed clear bag with a bar code, manufacturers name and CAGE Code, and other markings. I believe OKays are bulk packed in large boxes with nothing in between, no wrappers, and rub against each other. Well, for under $12, fine with me. These are really good quality mags even if they look bad. As I said, a spritz of moly dry lube and they will look better. I wouldn't waste the time. |
|
OKay makes Colt and NHMTG. Labelle became D&H and General Stamping. Labelle also made Bushmaster, DPMS, and some no-name mags (blank floorplates). They made both dry lube finish as well as both gray and black teflon finishes. Parsons, Adventure Line, and Center were all from Parsons Kansas, and I suspect just a change of shingle out front. These are all pretty old, especially Parsons, I'd replace springs and followers. D. L. Sanchez are common, and though most are good, if they have black followers, you might want to replace both the spring and follower with green or Magpul. Cooper, ONLY if they have 6 or more spot welds per seam, replace the spring and follower and test. If only 3 spot welds per seam, discard or don't buy. |
Some mags had the gold anodized color under the gray dry lube. Others are silver. They ARE anodized, just not color anodized. |
|
Update... While digging through my mags, I found a batch of older OKay's, individually sealed in plastic bags. They had the exact same scratches as seen in some of the posts above. So, this tells me the scratching and rough finish is happening in production, and not afterwards during shipping or distribution. I could not get a good photo because of reflections of the flash on the plastic. |
