The Sanchez mags when used with black followers seemed to have a higher rate of feeding issues than other USGI mags. I am pretty sure the green follower solution to the follower "tilting" issue was first used in the Sanchez mags. That said, if the mags you are looking at (or I assume you are looking at) are in good shape otherwise, I would not eliminate them from consideration. It's easy and inexpensive to swap out black plastic followers (if they have them) for green ones or Magpuls. |
| Back in the late 80s and early 90s, if you were caught on the Marine KD course with a Cooper or Sanchez magazine in your weapon and you had a malfunction, you weren't getting an alabi. Everybody knew they were unreliable and you ought to know better than to use them so the range officials didn't show any mercy on you if you had problems with them. Today I avoid them like the plauge. |
| The SMALL number of Sanchez magazines that had a problem have cast a stigma on them forever BUT in reality MOST you will find work as well as any other black follower magazine. I'll say it again as I have before: we used to trade our cases of new 30's for old 20's because they were far more reliable but then again that was pre-anti tilt. |
