About 10 or 12 years ago, I bought a .22lr conversion kit for my Colt AR15. This kit consists of just a replacement bolt/insert and a magazine and is sold in a "Colt" brand plastic package. FWIW, there are no other manufacturer's markings on either part that I can see. This unit works very well; it is both reliable and fairly accurate. Since this conversion kit is only supplied with 1, 10-round .22lr magazine, I would like to purchase one or two more magazines. Any ideas where these can be purchased? (I'd much prefer NOT to deal with the J. A. Ciener Company). |

I'm wondering this as well. I bit the bullet and bought some from ole man J.C. I can say that he needs to be boycotted. I've never spoken with anyone that was more hateful than this particular company. If you find anything please IM me or get ahold of me somehow. Goodluck! |

Don't use a John Ciener magazine with a Colt conversion kit, the lips aren't the same size. I nearly damaged a magazine until I figured it out. I picked one up while they were only $30 years ago. My friend said it would work, she was wrong. It almost did, but it kept jamming. The bolt was shving metal off the feed lips. The magazines from DPMS look identical to it and others have said that DPMS's upper is based on the Colt kit. I hope the 30 round magazines they are working on will work with it, also. |
