| I just got some Orlite mags and was wondering if I should replace the follower with a green one? Also what is your overall opinion of Orlites? So far I really like them. But how will they do in say negative degree weather that I will experience in North Dakota? |
Orlites never pay for themselves no matter how cheap. Over the years I have given Orlites three chances only to pay again to buy USGI mags. A good used USGI $15 mags is three times better than any New or "excelllent" Orlite. Quite a few "reconditioned" Orlites floating about but most are just repainted flat black crap. The Israeli army chucked these for a reason on the surplus market, they do not work. Hootbro |
| I started out using Orlites because they were cheap and different from the norm. However, I am now a firm believer that you should not count on orlite mags in a life or death situation. Save yourself some money and frustration and stick with USGI mags or equalivant. I believe ORF is selling british mags at 5 for 55 bucks. Most orlites go for 8-10 bucks. |
| the best orlites were the ones that were black and shiny, the matte black ones with "made in israel" stickers on them are garbage. they are spray painted to hide cracks then they throw that rediculous sticker on there to add credability. i bought some of the repaints for $5 each and they have served me well. i havent broken one yet but i bought most of my orlites brand new in the wrap. as others have said i would never ever trust them in a serious situation |
