I have a few Colt 20rndrs with the old aluminum follower, and a few O Kay Industries 30rndrs with a black plastic follower. They all seem to work fine, but I have just put a few rounds through each. Number one question is how badly do I need to install green followers? Number two, does refinishing do anything except make the mag prettier? These mags are all good to very good condition with no dents and very few scratches. By the way, the only green follower that I have came in the 10rndr that Bushmaster supplied with the gun. It has never failed to feed, but I can easily get it to jam crooked if I push one end down with my finger. |

The 20 and 30 USGI use two different followers. My understanding that the green follower was designed to improve feeding in full auto fire. I have never had any problem in 10s thousand of rounds in either semi, burst or full auto with either of the orginal in about 100 different mags. But it was designed for a reason. Refinishing a mag in my opion is soully cosmetic. |
