Hello: Please give me options for marking AR-15 mags. All of mine are USGI 30 rounders (prebans). I would use duct tape, but after the adhesive hardens, it takes nearly an act of God to remove it. I would use magic marker, but that does take an act of God to remove. What do you fellows use? I guess I want something durable, but removable in case I ever want to sell them.....or some of them. |

Quoted: i have over 150 mags, i see no reason to mark them.., why do you all mark them ?? so I know they are mine and also so if one of them starts having trouble at the range I know which one it was that need to be looked at... replace follower, clean, replace springs, etc. |

Yessiree. Thanks for the information, Boys. I originally made the post because I have some new springs coming, and I wanted to at least tell which mags had the new springs. But I also keep different mags loaded with different ammo (more for convenience than anything), and wanted a quick reference to which mag was which, without having to scrutinize the headstamps. Should some armed prowler come poking 'round, I'd rather jam in a mag of 75gr OTM than a hastily fumbled mag of Wolf or some other cheaper "plinking" ammo! How 'bout you? |

I use small stickers cut from address labels on the bottom of each mag. After every failure to feed/extract the mag gets a mark. For every mark the mag is disassembled, cleaned, and checked. After a few marks it is placed out of service as unreliable. If you are marking for other reasons china markers work pretty good, available at Home Depot by the ceramic tile tools. Jason. |

| one way i mark all my mags is to use a paint pen and fill in one of the spot welds. all you have to do is dab it on there, theres already a circle. plus you have 6 spot welds to use. i put a green dot on the bottom spot weld of all of em to identify them as mine, then the next spot up i use white to identify the mags with chrome silicone springs. another way is to use the orange followers. hope this helps |

Quoted: Quoted: why do you all mark them ?? Different loads, and with my badge number to keep coworkers from walking off with them [;)] aaah haaa !! i do not have that problem, when i empty a mag, it goes back in the pouch, never give any thought in I Dee'ing each mag, if i have one that is troublesome i just put it in my pocket & check it out later... |
