I bought a new English gray Steel mag with a black follower. Should I relace this one with the green follower? What is the price for a mag like this? I paid $30 (good or bad)?

Thanks Nate

I ordered green followers for mine.  I took one apart and I believe the black follower in these is the same.  My green ones came in today.  I will compare them side by side.
I got mine for $18 in plastic from usarmory.com.

The Royal Ordnance black followers have a slightly longer "leg" than the USGI greens.  Virtually everyone who has swapped black for green has stated they noticed fully-loaded mags were easier to seat against a closed bolt after they changed followers.

I didn't change mine, but it took some filing of the upper portion of their mag catch hole to get them to reliably lock with a full mag on a closed bolt.

I paid $22 for two then later picked up two more for $24 each.

I'd replace the follower. My originals seemed a bit rough around the edges and as the post above states the leg seemed longer. I couldn't seat a full mag with the bolt forward until I put greenies in.

Appearances lie.  Those English followers "look" similiar to the green follower, but they are NOT the the same.

The English follower is chessey -- very soft plastic.  Try sqeezing the fore-and-aft ends together -- see how flimsy they are.  The green follow is very rigid and strong plastic.
