I saw a message thread on here that hinted that there may be problems with these guys. Is there a known problem with them that I don't know about? He seems to have some pretty good mag prices. Any thoughts? |
I ordered several 30-rd mags from RGuns in April 2002. I never got them, but fortunately they never charged my credit card. I did call them a couple of times to check, but the guy on the phone just barked, "They're backordered!", and hung up. When a vendor's handle on these boards is "KMA" for "Kiss My A$$", well, I would say the customer service skills are a bit lacking. Good prices, though, and other people have had no problems with them. IBTL! |
Quoted: I have ordered from them several times with no problems. Got order in 2-3 days. Secret is simple-ask if the item you are interested in is in stock and ready to ship. If it is, order. If not, don't order. It's that simple. Not quite that simple...But, roll the dice, order, and let us know how it comes out. |

Quoted: I have ordered from them several times with no problems. Got order in 2-3 days. Secret is simple-ask if the item you are interested in is in stock and ready to ship. If it is, order. If not, don't order. It's that simple. Fair enough... But when an item is on the website, isn't marked "Backordered" or "Not Available", *and* the person who took my order doesn't tell me it's backordered - well, I assume everything's hunky-dory, the vendor ought to know his inventory. At least that's how it works everywhere else I've ordered. |
Quoted: glad to see that some of you have nothing better to do. drjarhead how is life in northern wisconsin. have a nice day. R GUNS OUT.. I see Mommy finally let you come out to play. You remember Mommy, don't you? Ahhh, life up north is cold and white. Sick of snow. Beats the hell out of FIBville, though. Just drove through IL week before last. God, I hate that f'ing state. And that was even before I knew you! [nana] You have a nice day also. And remember: caveat emptor |

I have been to rguns store. in fact I bought 2 post ban colt lowers from them a few Teflon mags. and some used preban 30 rounders. guys in the store treated me ok, seemed to know what they had in stock. seemed to be a little Leary of a long haired biker with tattoos' buying a couple of colt lowers though. the dog behind the counter was friendlier edited to add: everything they had in the shotgun news ad was just as they stated. mags where as clean and in good condition |
| glad to see you stop by. as to your tatoos and hair is not any thing that would affect any sales to you. as a matter of fact im down to to harleys right now. the guys that I worry about are the clean cut LE guys working for chicago. as rich daley has full time cops trying to set up dealers in the northern ILL area. stop by again. |
I remember the last threads on R GUNS. "Mr. R GUNS" seemed to enjoy dishing out all sorts of negative comments to us all. Claimed HE was right about everything and WE were the dumbsh*ts. So many people reported having problems with the company. You all gave very good examples to back up your opinions. R GUNS on the other hand seemed to lash out. Not once did I hear R GUNS even try to explain anything. It was just "F*ck this" and "F*ck that". I hope R GUNS does'nt wonder why I decided not to make any purchaese from the company. |
Quoted: I have had only one opportunity to deal with RGuns and I had no problems. I was treated fairly and promised nothing that wasn't delivered exactly as they said it would be. JMHO Glad things worked out for you. Would even like to see that Kiss My Ass had gotten his shit together. Just don't see it happening. [buttkick] |
| yeah had an experience with them, i have yet see anything they have in shotgun news actually be in stock....how many years (not kidding) can they say "we are expecting a shippment in ,in a couple weeks" ya call in a couple weeks, and ya get the same ole crap...heres a hint IF YA DONT HAVE IT IN STOCK, DONT ADVERTISE IT..ppl will get wise to the "string em along" routine. |
| I've ordered from R Guns three times in the last six months (mag orders), based on their current ads in Shotgun news. They have been up front with me if something wasn't in stock, and have filled the orders fast, and with exactly what I ordered. They have done right by me. |
Placed my latest order with R-Guns on Tuesday and received in Friday. 10 English mags @ $14/00/ea. Mags are nice and I am 100% satisfied with the price ($11.00/ea less than other dealers) and the service (3 days from order to receipt). I have now placed and received a total of ~70 orders with R-Guns dating back to 1988. No problems what-so-ever with any of them. It has been said earlier in this thread and I will say it again. The secret to ordering from R-Guns is to call and ask if they have the item you want in stock for shipment right now. If so proceed, if not decide if you want to wait for a backorder. When you have completed the order ask one more time, when will my order ship? Never have I been mislead. Assuming that a dealer has an item in stock just because they have it advertised on their web page will only lead to disappointment. Stock changes on a daily basis and a static web page was never meant to reflect "real time" inventory levels. My experience, FWIW. |
| I called R Guns twice to order used 30 rd.AR-15 mags and they were out of stock both times. The people on the phone spoke clearly and were businesslike. I called 4/11 and ordered 10 English mags at $140+8(shipping). They were supposed to be shipped the same day. Same polite conversation with the salesperson. No charge for using a credit card. I'll post the delivery date.****Got the mags in 4/16, new in individual plastic bags, blue, not parkerized like some of the others. As advertised. |
I have completed two transactions with RGuns the last transaction was a large one. They were very business and professional like with the transactions. I would not hesitate to do business with these guys again. The shipping was about one of the best I have seen, I ordered 4 DPMS Mags on a Tuesday morning and UPS was at the door Thursday afternoon with the Mags exactly as RGuns described them. Myself if I need anymore Teflon Mags I will definitely call these guys first.[:D] |

DPMS is that way also, I feel their Rifles are the best made, but if you order from them you need to ask if it is in stock or you might get your item in three days or three months. RGuns was very polite and they told me the Mags I ordered were in stock and they would get them out to me. I have 0 complaints with them, their products, or sure not their shipping dept. |
| I orderd 4 sa-80 mags on 4/11 the salesperson was very polite, actually asked me if that was i really wanted (I should ordered more. I called back on the next monday 4/14 to get a tracking no. they looked up my order got back to me in 30 min. and e-mailed me the number the mags will arrive tommorrow in the mean time I was stupid and impatient so i went to the local gun store and bought an Orilite ($26.00 mistake) POS has to be jammed in and won't drop free. So will be ordering more from R-guns. |

GUN DEALER GUILTY OF IMPERSONATING COPS Chicago Tribune; Chicago, Ill.; Oct 17, 1997; Jerry Crimmins.; A gun dealer who owns R Guns, 140 N. Western Ave., Carpentersville, pleaded guilty in Kane County Circuit Court this week to impersonating a police officer, said Jerry Singer, a spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. The charge is a felony and the gun dealer, Roger Lee Krahl, will lose his federal firearms license, said Singer. Judge James Doyle sentenced him to 18 months' probation, said Singer. Singer said Krahl, 33, of Algonquin, used letterheads from more than a dozen police departments to make it seem he was a police officer when he placed orders for assault weapons from manufacturers. Krahl used the letterheads to buy more than 100 assault weapons and accessories. Copyright Chicago Tribune Co. Oct 17, 1997 So who holds the license now, RGUNS, rogernut, KMA, savanna (or whatever name you're using this week)? |
This guy seems like a scammer. Check out this thread: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=17&t=157184&page=1 Here's what he says, but the NRA's web site contradicts his claim. Quoted: FYI. the sunset portion of the crime bill only relates to guns. the magazines are NOT coverd in the sunset portion of the law. unless the law is changed. magazines will remain 10 rds unless they were mfg prior to 13 sept 1994. just got comfermation from the NRA. R GUNS OUT. |
All of the above is true. Have called them several times about mags in their website/ads. They have never had the items. Called about 3 wks ago re some M-1 carbine mags-I asked if they were USGI. The guy @ RGuns barked "NO- ASIAN". I said "oh" and without anything further- CLICK, he hung up. Great customer service skills.....NOT. |

Been a while. [ROFL2] |

Good to see ya here Jim Dandy. Been a while. I got homesick. You know, I wonder what a call to the Carpentersville, Illinois PD might reveal if I were to do some name dropping about Mr. Krahl. A call to the BATFE field office in Chicago might be equally interesting. Now that his sentence has been adjudicated, I'd REALLy be interested to see and hear all of that. Hmmmm. The money I spent to get the newspaper article from the Chicago Tribune was PRICELESS. |
Quoted: I seem to remember that there are (or were) TWO "Rguns" and they are night and day. One's run by a near perfect jerk and the other's run by a near perfect gentleman. Is that right? CJ These are the people from Texas. http://www.koyote.com/users/gunshop/page28.html How the heck can a felon legally go shooting? The ATF used to have a procedure where you could sort of get a relief from that, but I think the funding for that was eliminated some time ago.[>:/] You know there was some girl who was photographed in some racy picture with a gun and when her probation officer (I think she even had on the house arrest thing) saw it she got ratted out and was actually charged by the ATF. Unlike some firearms violations they seem pretty aggressive about the felon possessing a gun stuff. |
sorry i forgot. just sold the carpentersville police dept some guns. some much for that jimmydandy. I go shooting with them all the time. funny how things work out. you must have to much time on your hands. Oh Roger, little man Roger. As a good citizen I now feel compelled to contact the BATFE field office and your local law enforcement authorities. I'm just not comfortable with the fact that a CONVICTED FELON is in our midst dealing firearms. And yeah, I'll MAKE TIME for you. This is going to be fun when I talk to them tomorrow. I seem to remember that there are (or were) TWO "Rguns" and they are night and day. One's run by a near perfect jerk and the other's run by a near perfect gentleman. Is that right? That's right. You should talk to the Richardson's Guns out of Texas. Good people. Because of the NEGATIVE publicity generated by our fair maiden Mr. Krahl (as in CRAWL BACK IN YOUR HOLE), they had to change their URL and take out a disclaimer that they were NOT affiliated with any aberrant behavior. There are beaucoup DOCUMENTED complaints against RGUNS of Carpentersville, Illinois from many, many sources on AR15.com, rec.guns, subguns.com, and others. |
Quoted: sorry i forgot. just sold the carpentersville police dept some guns. some much for that jimmydandy. I go shooting with them all the time. funny how things work out. you must have to much time on your hands. Bet it'll be even funnier in the future. However, answer the question. Who holds the FFL on your business? I've seen the Chicago Tribune article myself as can anyone simply by going to their website and doing a search. Kiss My Ass, you really are a piece of work. As usual your info is as useful as the single synapse you've got going. |
Well, this morning has already started shaping up rather nicely. I just got off of the telephone with the BATFE office in Downers Grove, Illinois and I must say, they are VERY interested in Mr. Krahl and the possibility that he may be possessing and dealing in firearms. Just trying to be a good citizen, Roger. Bend over and grab your ankles. Edited to add: What does it mean when a BATFE inspector says "We can't discuss the particulars of a dealer in an ongoing case?" Because that's what the inspector said when I mentioned RGuns and Roger's name. |
Quoted: I wonder if you pay for that to, or do you stiff them also. No, I've paid everyone except you!! [nana] AND, I really did enjoy giving you the old stiffy. [buttkick] Enjoy even more rubbing your nose in it every chance I get. Tip #1: Questions should end with a question mark, dimwit. [brick] Tip #2: In a battle of wits you come unarmed. Maybe you should've quit while you were... [banana] |
| this is what happens when you only have 1/2 the story. as to the legal questions that jimmy boy seems to have. the charge was such a joke the the state reinstated my FOID card. so it was like it never happend. for the record the company was started as R GUNS in 1988. it is richardsons that poached. glad to see that you now have a reputation of calling the ATF. you need to get a job. R GUNS OUT. |
as to the legal questions that jimmy boy seems to have. the charge was such a joke the the state reinstated my FOID card. so it was like it never happend. That's not what the BATFE field office said. I spoke with both the inspectors and criminal investigative divisions. Come back when your story is straight. I'm not comfortable having a CONVICTED FELON holding a Federal Firearms License and possessing firearms. As a good citizen, I also feel compelled to contact Project Exile in Chicago on your behalf. It is the right of law-abiding taxpayers to KNOW what kinds of activities a CONVICTED FELON is involved. for the record the company was started as R GUNS in 1988. it is richardsons that poached. Wrong again, Little Miss Roger. "Since our start in 1987 as a law enforcement supply company...." Looks like you're once again the THIEF and LIAR, Roger. Now's your cue to excuse yourself, because you'll never dig your way out of this hole. The antis see a CONVICTED FELON involved on the periphery of the shooting sports and they automatically associate the rest of us with a SCUMBAG. glad to see that you now have a reputation of calling the ATF. Only on CONVICTED FELONS and other SCUM who are a discredit to the legal activities of law-abiding citizens. |
The comments by RGUNS about Richardson Guns poaching RGUNS name and his comments about what the NRA told him on the sunset of the mag ban just shows he is a liar and cannot be trusted. Websites from the NRA and Richardson guns BOTH EASILY disprove the BS that RGUNS is stating. |
