They have the 2 additions that you described. The green anti tilt follower and a chrome silicon spring. The chrome silicon spring touts to have 1000 times more memory than the current USGI springs. The springs have a parkerized type coating which is supposed to have a 72 hour resistance to salt water exposure.

You can upgrade your current mags if you choose as the parts are available on the equipment exchange board.

I highly recommend just buying new or like new USGI mags, they are a MUCH better value than the mags above.  If you still had any concerns then just buy spare springs for swapping out after you put a few years of use on the mags.

Kevin,
I appreciate the input and suggestion of value. Since this weapon might make the difference in me getting home to my family I would rather over pay and ensure TOP quality and reliability.

Is there anything deficient or negative about the magazine OTHER than being a little pricey?

Thakns in advance!

Are you buying the LE mags for $25 each?  If that's the case then your not get burned too terribly bad but still, for the price of two mags you could have four (Labelle type) teflons from Armalite or elsewhere.

With Sawles I would first verify the mags are indeed new and you should also inquire about the finish, MAKE SURE its USGI moly finish. If they are black teflon mags from Colt then you should avoid. Colt cut loose a batch of teflon mags (both new & 'demo') that were a joke.  The teflon finish had been applied over the existing remaining moly finish which is worthless.  Sawles was one of the primary recipients of these mags.

Sawles= SPECIALIZED ARMAMENT WAREHOUSE (LE Sales)

Yes, I am getting 2- 30rnd LE mags. They are actually swapping out the 2- 20 rnd mags that come w/ my LE6920 for the 2- 30 rnd mags and only charging me the $3 difference per mag.

So far they have been great!!  Tina knows more about Colt AR-15's than any gun dealer in my area, not even close.

Where you say "With Sawles.." it seems you are suggesting they are not reputable. I would appreciate any insight into this as I AM in the process of doing business with them for a weapon and gear ($$$$).

I would be surprised to hear of it because they seem GREAT to this point but I am open to info. Or maybe I am reading too much into your grammer   heheh

Also they are new mags but what would "useless" teflon hurt the reliability of the mag anyway?

Thanks in advance!!

Not what I'm saying, SAWLES is completely reputable,* they just had a large amount of those refinished/refurbished teflon coated mags from Colt.  Because of that you should verify which mags you're getting. If they are not those teflon Colts then you should be able to proceed with comfort.

* Except for the $75 price tag for a pre-ban Colt mag, OUCH!!!

Kevin,

I talked to Tina today and she said the 'coated' ones they recieved were only demos and that they got like 20 of em. She said these are recent product and factory new.
