I know that M14/M1A mags can be modified for use in an AR-10, but what about Mini-14 Mags modified for use in a AR-15?  IS this possible, or possible the other way around...(AR-15 mags mod'ed for use in a mini-14).  If anyone knows anything about this, let me know.  Thanks.

I can't think of ANY good reason to modify mini14 mags to use in an AR. Good mini14 mags cost a lot more than even NIW ar mags.

As for doing it the other way around, it still can't be done. At least not easily (I try to never say never). Mini14's have a completely different attachment mechanism and there may be dimensional issues too.

Not worth bothering with, if it's even possible.

Where is a good place to buy Mini-14 mags at a decent price?

Well, there are decent-priced Mini mags, and there are Mini mags that WORK, but the two are mutually exclusive.

Factory mags work the best, but expect to pay $80-100 each for them.

The next best are Federal Ordnance/PMI mags, which are going to run at least $50.  And Thermolds will cost about the same, sometimes more.

Everything else is aftermarket junk, and won't work reliably, but will ONLY cost $20-35 each...
