I've never tried my "new" 10 round Bushmaster magazines. I just ran across them in the bottom of my safe. I took a look and they DO look better than the pinned "Frankenmags" that came with my Shorty. Does anyone actually use these 10 rounders much? Been away for a while an wanted to see if this posts OK.

i have a friend that just purchased a bushmaster ar and it came with a 10 rnd mag wich i think i standard but Whats the deal with the bushmaster mags, its possible he got a bum mag but he loaded it and released the bolt. but the mag stoped the bolt from chambering the round. is there a fix for this
- just go get another
- grind
what.?

Down load the magazine to only 8 rounds and they (or should I say mine) function fine.

IMHO the BM Frankenmags will become a collectors item, because 90% of them were tossed or exchanged for the new style BM magazines.

I have had good luck with the smoke colored plastic DPMS post ban 10 rnd magazines (CDNN used to sell them for less than $10).

Any Klinton-reduced 10-round mag will have excessive spring pressure.  This is because of BATF regulations that prohibit mag designs that could allow more than 10 rounds to be inserted in the mag.  These mags will need to be broken in before they will loosen up and be reliable.  Cycling the follower will help (use a wooden ruler or similar tool), as will underloading the mag.

Bushmaster will replace any of their mags that don't function correctly.
