I ordered two of the post ban Bushmeaster 10 rounders.  They are built like a USGI mag except the floor plate.  They have the new teflon coating and function perfectly.  If I could only buy some 30s built this well....

For a good range mag, this is the best I've seen.

www.bushmaster.com sells them right off the website.  Shipping is too high, but what are you going to do?

To follow up my post with a question.....

Bushmaster sells a preban 40 round steel mag. on their site.  Is it any good and who made them?

Welcome to the site

Go over to the Equipment ExchangeBoard and the the "AR15 Magazine for Sale" section and find some mags there.

Only buy USGI mags if at all possible.

I believe the 40 rounders that Bushmaster is selling are "USA Brand", do not get these, you might (and that is a big might) get lucky and get one that works, but they are pretty much junk, though they do make good targets.

I have ten good USGI NIW mags that I keep for another day.  That said, I alway need some everyday mags and I would rather not pay $25 for a used mag.

For shooting paper, the ten rounders are just fine.  For the tactical work, I use Orlites.  My last batch of Orlites was $7 each.  They work fine, but they don't last forever.

If the 40 rounders on the Bushmaster page is indeed a USA/Western Metal, they should hang their heads in shame.  Those mags are 100% pure junk!  There have been some good steel 40s out there, I even have a few.   My hope is that these might be the same thing and I could use them as my beater mags for tacticl shooting.  Guess not......

PHEW!  Y'all just saved me $75.00 and some heartache; I nearly bought 3 of those 40 round mags from Bushmaster.

Thanks.
