[ARCHIVED THREAD] - brass

Need some 556/223 brass to load..reloaded some federal cases from walmart...doesn't seem very good...a lot of trouble getting primers in. What brass is recommended...what to stay away from...good sources.

Were the primers crimped? If so, did you remove the crimp before re-priming?

If the Federal brass also has the year stamped, it is excellent brass, but does have a crimp which must be removed.
