I just wanted to put a calculator on my phone (actually, my wife's phone. I gave my phone up when Snowden expose the NSA as tracking me. Thank God for Snowden) so I could use my new Magnetospeed Sporter on the range then, once I knew the MV of particular rounds calculate the holdovers / holdunders at the firing distances available on my local range and then go on to zero the weapon.
Wow! Did that work spectacularly. I got the MVs in about half an hour for two rifles and six different loads, then went from the 20 yard to the 50 yard and then the 100 yard in sequence knowing what difference in POA and POI to expect from the loads at hand and using the zero I prefer (300 m long zero). It was soooo easy. In the past, I'd had to get the MV and then go home and use the computer and then return to the range to zero. What a time saver. Now, I was using a free app for Android. And, it seemed to have way more capabilities than I need as I shoot irons and RDS and not magnified optics. So, is there one for irons? Oh, I don't want to argue over Snowden. The laws the prevented him from informing us of the illegalities and anticonsitutional actions of the Obama government and maybe all that went before it are written to protect the rotten Stazi government we have. He's a hero in my view. I'd do not only what he did but much more were I'd have been him.
So, let's not argue. Let's just talk about ballistic calculators. I hear that Apple is joisting with the Government now about automatic, default high level encryption for their phones. If they win, maybe I'll carry a phone again. Best, LF |
