| Snagged 800 rounds of 75 grain hornady steel match and 300 of the 55 grain steel match, loaded all my 855 onto strippers and really thinking about saying bye bye to it. I never shoot the damn stuff anyway, it just sits and collects dust for the most part. I don't see the draw honestly and it's harshing my mellow when the whole .223 shelf is empty, damn. |

To be honest - m855 sucks. M193 provides better results - unless you're shooting at soviet steel helmet formations. meh...depends on what you are using it for. I was using it as range/plinking ammo and was happy with its performance. Typically I'd get around 2 MOA with my 6920. |

Someone send me some Lithuanian so I can do a heads up test  Kidding aside, I've never heard of the Lithuanian stuff, and I find it hard to believe you can get much better than IMI, when talking M855 or M193. |

Plus I doubt they meet all the standards. The DoD spec on brass quality, for example, is one many M855-clone makers do not meet. That said, GGG may be excellent ammo in every way. I haven't shot any, so I don't know. My experience with other M855 clones or NATO SS109 loads has included some bad experiences, though. Of actual M855, I would rank it best to worse IMI, Winchester/Olin and then Lake City. Note that XM855 from Federal is a strange witches brew (same box, ammo that clearly came off different machine types) and is not, as a whole, the exact same stuff made by LCAAP for the DoD. Lake City is great brass, though. |

Ive tested a few 855 rounds and from my results the PMC green tip fragments the best so far. ETA the worst was that ZQI or whatever it is that comes in 30 round boxes at Wally World. That shit zips right through like an Ice pick, at least from the test I did. Care to elaborate on your "tests"? PMC XM855 has a lower velocity by almost 100 fps compared to Fed and IMI, so if anything I would expect it to have a shorter max fragmentation range. |

My buddy came back from Quantico (he instructs down there a couple times a year) and said they were running Taiwanese 5.56 with the TAA head stamp. ETA: this was within the last six months.
