Well I got out of the AR scene back in 2012 probably and didn't come back until this year. Back then the cat's ass was the Black Hills 70gr TSX. I had forgotten about it but saw some Ted Newgent (sp) 70gr TSX in Academy and thought back to the old threads. Looking here now I don't even see anyone talking about it. What gives? Moved on to a different flavor? Is this stuff not suited for HD?

Pretty much the best heavy expander for .223, everyone knows that.
Anything with a TSX, from the 45 to 70gr is deadly stuff.

Just need a 1:8-1:7 twist to shoot the 70gr.

Did Black Hills ever load the 70 TSX?   If they did I missed it.   Silver State Armory still loads it as well as Wilson Combat.   It is still an excellent bullet with barrel limitations.   There are several other rounds now that are quite good too and cheaper.   I think two of the main issues with this bullet is not many commercial loadings available and barrel twist limitations.   And those who do charge a premium.

From what I can remember Black Hills loaded it to 5.56 pressure, I could be wrong there though. It was either 70gr or 50gr. What other rounds are there? I've been out of the loop a bit. I know the new Kool-Aid is the Black Hills trophy king. My main problem with all of these amazing loads are simply finding them in stock.

I wanted to use this round (or just reload and use the bullet) for my deer hunting this season.

It's possible I missed it when it was available.  Not showing up at all now.   Silver State Armory has some in stock.    $19.95 per box.

SSA has their 70g tsx in stock, its loaded to 556 pressure.  The website lists it as 70g SCHP.  I ordered and the packages say 70g tsx.

Thank you for this information. I am really glad I can get a 70gr TSX load from SSA as they seemingly load it hotter than competitors. And thanks to SSA if they read this.
