I am looking for a storage solution for my ammo storage.  I was looking for something enclosed and secure - something like a foot locker, but heavier steel and with a hasp for a lock.  What does everyone think about this idea?  I was thinking like something similar to a tool chest that goes in a pickup truck bed.  I have a baby ammo whore stash of about 25k but it is spread out amongst 14 x 50 cal cans, 25 spam cans, large SA cases and some cases in factory packaging.

This is because I have a baby coming and I need space and security.

If you are in this for the long haul ( shooting and storing ammo ) I suggest one of these....

I got a redhead safe from bass pro for ammo storage. not as nice as my liberty, but it will do for ammo. I'd want something better then a site box for several thousand $ in ammo.

I use a foot locker for some ammo . It is not big enough to hold a lot and is too heavy to move

This. Not a genuine 'safe', but pretty good imo. I have three; one ridgid and two better-built. The way the locks mount, the ridgid is MUCH easier to use. I don't think it's any more or less secure to anyone without a key, just easier to unlock & relock with the key.

Painted gray to reduce the amount of attention drawn:

Inside, both brands will hold two layers of vertically-stacked cans:

(The reason this one is such a hodge-podge is because this one is is the ridgid. This is the one I actually use out of; the better-builts are stuff that I don't care about getting into on a regular basis.)
