Best price around, but it seems like no one buys its. I am missing something about the quality?

I am tapped out, but have never had a problem with that particular ammo. Go for it, OP.

Wow, I would buy it if I had the money right now. Silly consumerist Christmas. I've actually shot this ammo before (not this particular package, but the same ammo) and I didn't notice anything negative about it. Is it hole touching stuff? No, but it's great for the price.

It's perfectly fine ammo. Keep in mind that most indoor ranges won't allow it.

I shoot a lot of 3 gun with steel targets. M855 is tough on steel targets.

Otherwise, it is good ammo. Clean, accurate and hot. I have some of it for blasting paper. I get 3-4 MOA and 2550 out of my 10.5" SBR with it.

Here is a list of published data that I have on different factory loads. 3050 is slower than the 50ish grain ammo, but 62 grains at 3020 has plenty of energy and should still be lethal out to 230 yards. However, terminal ballistics of the ss109 is still up for debate. The SS109 bullet is longer with a  better bullet coefficient, so you will have less drop and better wind resistance at distance vs lighter bullets.

cartridge, bullet weight, bullet type, bullet coefficient, published muzzle velocity (fps), calculated muzzle energy (ft-lbs)

XM193 55gr FMJ .250 3165 1223

AE223J 55gr FMJ .269 3240 1282

Horn Steel Match 55gr .254 BTHP 3240 1282

AE223GTV 50gr gray tipped .215 3350 1246

Rem 50gr JHP 3425 .192 1302

They have XM193 in ammo cans, with stripper clips, for about the same price per round ($170/420).

that may not be a better deal since m855 is usually more expensive than m193
