Hello to all,
Has anyone have any experience shooting Remington Yellow Box ammo that has a small 45 grain bullet? I was wondering if this ammo will function in my AR rifles reliably. At Bass Pro they have them in bulk packs of I beleive one hundred. I could use some inexpensive to function test my rifles. Impala |

Hey Impala.
You know the answer, only way to know is to test. Not all rifles like all ammo. That particular one is nothing special, but it works in our 10-22 rigs for junk ammo. I have not put anything like that through the AR22s because we have worked through those issues long ago. It looks cheap enough to just give some a try if that is what you can find, no? |

Not sure how hot that Remington stuff is loaded, probably not very, but I've shot a lot of Fiocchi 40 gr. V-Max through my Stag and never a problem. Can't hurt to try a bulk pack of the Rem stuff if it's affordable. leatherface_y2k, Thank you for your fast reply. Currently one of my AR rifles appears to be stubborn using PMC "Bronze"!!! It appears to short cycle using that brand......However my buddies rifle seems to be fine with it. I tried some older PMC "Target" and then the rifle functioned fine and cycled fantastic along with a smaple of some PMC "Military" ammo. It just appears that the "Bronze" is giving me a problem which makes me sad cuz ammo now a days is expensive. Now it's always possible I didn't give the recoil spring nor the BCG enough oil but I don't think so. My beleif is that these rifles in reality don't need allot of oil to function especially with just using 60 rounds to try it out! In either case I need some sort of bulk pack to get some blasting ammo to burn it through the rifle some more. This is with in reasonable limits of my pocket book. I really wish PMC woould bring back the Target and Military versions cuz I know those rounds are hot enough to cycle the most stubborn AR's. Impala |
