| Not sure if this is in the right place or not. But I'm looking into getting into reloading and not sure about what press to go with! I've looked at a few and like the Hornady and the Dillon progressive presses but also looked at a few others. What is everyone's thoughts about these? |
| everyone has their own opinion and I don't know about anyone else but my first press was a gift. Check pawn shops or even thrift stores or craigslist to see if you can pick up a cheap used one to start with to find out if you are interested. My first was a RCBS and it's still what I use most of the time. |

I'm sure I'm going to enjoy it a few years back a uncle of mine showed me how to at the time. But back then I didn't shoot to often. Now I work away from home for 4 weeks then home for 2, and seems like every time I'm home I shoot anywhere from $200-$500 in ammo sometimes more. So I'm thinking just for that reason it would be wise to get into and also have a lot of free time in those 2 weeks. |

FWIW Dillon has a stellar reputation for customer satisfaction. If it breaks, they fix it. Free.
A few years ago a member here bought a Dillon press that had parts missing. He sent it in for refurbishing and they returned it to him, refurbished, WITH ALL MISSING PARTS REPLACED... for FREE. No charge. I like doing business with a company like that. I bought my 550 when the price of the press was about the price of a case of .223 ammo. |
