Ran into Dick's Sporting Goods on Black Friday to check out if they had anything worth buying with their "buy one, get one 50% off" sale on all ammo... Found 6 boxes of XM193F, picked them all up immediately and then calculated it at $6.74/box ($337.00 per 1000) before tax. With tax it was around $7.

I thought that was a pretty decent deal with what I'm seeing all around at every site I usually buy from (Aim is sold out, Wideners is sold out or very expensive, Palmetto is very expensive for Federal 5.56), but one of the guys in line was telling me he still sees it for $6 a box. I asked him where and (of course) he wouldn't tell me.

Is there anyone selling it for anywhere near $300/1000 anymore? I really don't think so but thought I'd ask. :)

I don't think we will see $300/1000 for XM193 anytime soon...if ever.  I loaded up with it when Glenns Outdoors was selling it for $300 and included shipping.

Nope. Those prices are gone forever.

I bought out the Federal bulk packs 100 rounds for $34 at my local Walmart - its the best deal I can find right now.  Other than that I have found 20 round boxes of 55 gr Federal for $10 locally, but the norm is around $13.  5.56 ammo prices are getting stupid if you only shoot brass and most of the online suppliers are sold out.  I am going to stick to shooting my .22 and my AK because ammo is cheap.  I also have been thinking about getting an AR .22  trainer as well if these price norms continue.

Try to preorder with Brownells. They have some good deals for 5.56. They also usually good on delivering preorders.

Belongs in the tacked thread on pricing and availability.
