Called in about 30 mins ago and ordered 2 cases of the 55gr for 479 apiece. Had to ask him to look for it. It was not on the web.
I honestly think Cabelas is playing games with us, just like hiding Easter Eggs. They know we are looking, so they hide it just to watch the fun. |

Calling in worked for me as well. Got my 1000rd case. Came out to 54cpr which is slightly above my limit but I really couldn't help myself. It's nice to actually get my hands on new ammo! Thanks for the tip everyone.

It's $.51 CPR delivered for AE 5.56 55gr. Everyone has been saying they refuse to pay $300/1k of Federal XM193 since this time last year because they said they are waiting for the panic to end. |

I've purchased a lot of ammo in the last few weeks.. my running average is $.44 per round, shipped - with tax if applicable. My range has been $.40 per round shipped for Wolf (steel) to Federal XM193 via Gander Mountain for $.56 (I pay tax at Gander) Hope that helps. Don't panic - panic IMHO means you're paying over $.60 per round shipped. */* BTW, I don't personally differentiate pricing between .223 and 5.56.. that said, I'll use .223 at the range and keep all 5.56 for zombie defense. They both go 'bang. |

Yep and I'm not going to put gas in my truck until it comes back to .99 per gallon. Touché. I buy a case here or there, but haven't paid more than $.44/rd since the panic. I have to make myself pay that, but I tell myself that it's not coming down for at least 6 months. I have a rather hungry Colt with a happy switch that just won't wait that long. Also, I'm one of those evil hoarders that bought lots of cases of Federal XM193 in late 2011 when it was $275 shipped |

I'd gladly pay anything below .55CPR if I could get to it on time. Always late to the party

real happy for the folks finding sub 50/cpr. Everyone has different circumstances, money in pocket, time to look for deals, previously stashed ammo. No use gloating about how much any individual would or wouldnt pay. Keep it to yourselves I say.

Thanks for the tip everyone. Ditto. Thanks Fellas. Lady answered on 1st ring looked up item number posted on this site . I had to pay tax, has shipped to omaha store free. Will be at store for pickup 2/22/13 I ordered on phone at 9:55 am a few minutes ago. This is my 1st post shooting ammo buy. 50 a round is not a bargain. However I reload and brass has been impossible to find, State of Union tonight so I gambled on bad news and more panic. Thanks again whoever was posting the cabelas item number and phone number. Order was done in 5 minutes |

I do want to know about deals --but just because 50 out of 1000 people got a case for 44/cpr doesnt mean much to me. I mean, I am happy they did, and I sure hope to as well. Relative and common are not relevant. Everyone has different markets, individual needs, finances. |

My local WalMart (Greenfield, WI) had some Winchester White Box 5.56 FMJ this morning for $12.27 each, I bought the 3 box limit. They also had some Win Varmint rounds in .223 for $20/box.
This is the first time this year that I've seen any .223 or 5.56 at this WalMart. |
