I would say the color of the box is the difference.

All the same.
Federal puts the same ammo in about 10 different packages

Then what's the purpose of the two? I was told once the white box stuff is crap and not to buy it so I have a hard time finding the brown box stuff.

I have no idea what the purpose is, except to confuse people.

They take the same ammo,
put it in a black box and label it American Eagle Tactical and usually get an extra dollar a box for it.

I think there may be a difference between the brown and white box stuff regarding other military ammo.
Like the 62gr OTM for example

But the military doesnt use M193 anymore so its all the same.

I noticed a different primer crimp from white box to brown. That's it.

So should I expect to get the same specs then? my sportsmans has cases of white box and I been trying to stock up on brown box. Should I just mix the two?

Old crimp on left, new crimp on right. It looks staked in more than anything.

Its all the same ammo. The different packaging is for retailers. Common in this world is retailers with price match guarantee. To not have to honor it, every retailer gets a different box. Lawnmower 10 is 10w at wally world, 10L at lowes, etc... Im sure federal does this too..also itll trick people into thinking they are different so they just HAVE to buy both to see.... Typical american marketing....

A pox on the people at Federal for these shenanigans. This has caused so much confusion it's not even funny.
