Mine just seriously upgraded their ammo selection. I asked why did they decide this and the manager (i know ) said when hunting season rolls around they do this. I told him that this is the first year I have ever seen this and he again told me that their distribution centers have more options now.

I wish they did. I just bought ammo online for the first time and it was a fucking disaster. from where? While the vendor could have packed it a bit better, they're not entirely to blame for the problem. PMC comes in unsealed boxes. So if the vendor doesn't pack them tight enough the ammo falls out in the box. So when the UPS guy literally threw the box at my porch, it broke open when it hit the stairs. So my girlfriend came yhome to a mangled box with live ammo hanging out of it. A few rounds were significantly damaged. Not to mention I'm glad she got to it before our girls did. The UPS guy is probably lucky he didn't detonate a primer when he did it. Not to mention it was supposed to have a signature for delivery. I'm not going to call out the vendor. I simply emailed them that it might be a good idea to package ammo a bit better. I doubt I'll hear anything back but those are the breaks. I'll continue to use and recommend them, but will likely buy ammo elsewhere. My buddy I gave the damaged rounds to today said he ordered from PSA and it came packaged good enough to survive a fall off a building. Maybe I'm just picky, but loose rounds and the other parts to my order practically falling out of a box that was intentionally miscared for just seems to risky for me. I honestly don't know. Damage aside, are loose rounds in a lightly taped up box acceptable for an ammo shipment? |

Oh yea, well my walmart has excellent choices in ammo but also stocks most everything for reloading. I walked in one day and beside the gun case was a huge wall full of all the accessories, bullets, powder and a few different presses. I was like |

And I think your $10 off on the 45 auto price. There are reports in other threads of Federal .45ACP 100 packs for +/- $26.00 at Wally. I buy the Federal 9mm 100 packs there for $19.97 when they have them and will now watch for the .45ACP. |

Is the Federal .45 the ammo with the small pistol primers and plated bullets? I looked at mine, since I have bought 9 of the Federal Value packs. The 100 ct value packs have large primers, the federal 50 packs have the small primer, I had some of them to compare them to. I hadn't even noticed that the federal 50ct had small primers until I looked. Before reloading starts I will have to sort them all. |

I picked up two of the .45ACP Federal 100 round boxes on Friday. It was around $55 tax and all. They didn't have the price marked so when the clerk asked if I wanted anything I had him price check it. Hell I thought they had made a mistake so I pounced on two boxes. That is almost as cheap as .40 S&W usually is. I might go back later today and see if there is any left. |

Also, I saw some PRVI Partisan 45 ACP on the shelf. I'm interested in seeing what shows up next. |

Plenty of ammo at mine. I really think it has more to do with the person at the store who is placing the orders. Always seems like there is plenty to go around: http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k81/1811guy2/ammo-1.jpg I figured it was around 40,000 rounds available. There is one more shelf below it that is full, and the 4 shelves on the opposite side are also full of the value pack .223. Not bad stuff, it is reasonable accurate and loaded to 3,240 fps. Not military crimped, so it makes for easier reloading. Great range ammo. Mmm yeah there is a primer crimp. It's just not as heavy as a military round. Look closely you'll see a ring around the primer. That's the crimp. I reloaded several with no issues and just assumed there was no crimp. Then ran a few that crushed the primer, that's when I noticed the ring around the primer pocket. |

They now have the 420rd 855 for $164 (6 of them to be exact) I would be all over that right now for $164 (especially w/ no sales tax in NH). Although this once was as low as $139 plus shipping online over the winter, the price has since climbed - like most ammo - and it's in the $170+ range now. |

I know, seeing what it is now compared to a few months ago. Still a decent deal, with pa sales tax |

Stopped by today and one of my three local Wal-Marts, the only one that DOESN'T sell guns , had one can of M855 American Eagle for $164.00. I had never seen an ammo can at this location. Would have bought it but for other gun related purchases this week.

| Got 2 boxes of the 100 rd. Federal .45ACP for @$25.97 today in W. Lebanon, NH. Left 3 more for the next guy. I also asked the clerk about the 420 rd. XM855 in the ammo can. He said he hasn't had it since late winter, always puts it on his order but hasn't gotten any yet. |

I realize ammo doesn't pay for itself, but I don't have the ability to walk away and leave 100 round boxes of 45 ACP for $25.97 on the shelves. I don't shoot much 45 but this price is amazing. |

None of the Walmarts in Lubbock can usually keep any kind of .223 on the shelves. Occasionally you might get lucky and see a green box…but they are much easier to find at Academy. Gander Mountain just wants too much for the ammo and every time I see someone looking at it I tell them to save $70 and go to Academy, just down the street (I've done that a few times right in front of the manager, he's not too happy with me). I've also sent people there looking for magazines to a mom and pop pawn shop from Gander…$25 for a Brownells mag or $22 for a PMAG where the pawn shop/guns store has Brownells mags for $12.95 and PMAGs for $13.65. Of course, ammo is another shop…
I guess I saw a couple green boxes of AE for $180 out the door at a Walmart (not a Supercenter) in Ballenger, TX and I walked out with another ammo can in my hand. |
| I just checked my local walmart in VA in a long time and they still don't sell military ammo. But I was very surprised when I saw black rifles in stock. They had a Colt 6920, Sig M400 and a Smith & Wesson .22 AR-15. I was shocked but still dissappointed that they don't have a good selection of ammo to feed the rifles they have in stock. Its not a gun store but I'm glad things are looking better in the Sporting goods department. |
| Mine has carried 3 different types of .223/5.56 and 2 different .22 ARs for a while now, but I went in there today and it literally looked like a small gun store. All kinds of blackhawk stuff (quad rails, vertical grips, holsters, slings, shotgun side saddles, you name it), several different types of sillouette (sp) targets, and several types of ammo that they usually don't carry. Made my day! |

The Walmart near me sucks. They have a complete display rack full of black rifles but haven't stocked the ammo to fit them in months. I wish they did. I just bought ammo online for the first time and it was a fucking disaster. Dont let your first experience sour you. I have the same problem with wally worlds and ammo around me and have been ordering online for the past couple of years. MUCH better than trying to beat the rednecks to WalMart. |

WM by my house is now $29.97. Last week was $25.97. I knew it wouldn't last at that price. Damn
I stopped by mine today and it is also now $29.97, too bad that was a SMOKING deal. Thankfully I was able to get 1000 rounds before the price adjustment. I wonder if they made a mistake at $25.97 for 45acp. The same ammo for 100rds .40 was $27.97. When I first saw it I was wondering why .45s was two dollars cheaper then .40s. |
