Looking to make my first bulk buy(1000 rounds.) Will be using a 1:8 16inch barrel and the ammo will mainly be used for plinking. All options are comparably priced.
Options 1- Federal XM193Bk 2- Aguila 55g FMJ 3- Freedom Munitions 62g ss109FMJ |

What ever path you choose, check the link above for ammo prices to see that you are not spending more than the market rate.
Some 'deals" are not really that great. Sometimes, an interstate purchase with the shipping costs less than the local prices. If you type your zip-code into the Gun-Deals.com ammo page, you will see the total price to your door. You can sort the columns if you have favorites like bullet weights or suppliers. You need to make up your own mind in terms of ammo specification first, then go find the best deal. Otherwise, you will have lots of ammo you are unhappy with. Play with the typical types first, for example M193, M855, etc., then decide what to go bulk up on. You can search here for strings where each type was traded off for the best value once you see what works best in your rig. |

I am a noobie but have hit all those sites as well as what feels like about 6,435 others looking for a deal. I guess I am most curious about the Freedom Munitions 62g ss109. That is not one that I have ever shot. |

none of the ammo you listed is on my "ammo to purchase" list unless i was desperate. the federal is crap, most will disagree but its reject ammo. the freedom munitions are reloads, and i dont shoot reloads from other companies. i dont trust them. the aguila, well, i have had trouble with other ammo, but can't say i have shot a ton of the .223.
i would take wolf over the federal though, and pmc over anything else mentioned. i guess whatever is cheapest

What are all of those idiots thinking? Do you have proof that XM193 is reject ammo? |

If you're not planning on reloading and don't care if it's cheap, Palmetto State Armory has MFS ammo for $129.99/500rd box shipped. Then again I keep hearing horror stories about rifles being picky with steel-cased ammo. Mine eats it just fine.
But of the three listed, my vote is for the XM193, despite the QC issues that have been reported lately. |

Spend 5mins and search on this forum to expand your knowledge before you give someone false information. This has been discussed countless times, Plenty of links have been shown directly from federal that it is first run ammo, as well as people who actually work for lake city's stating so. |

The Federal xm193F in sealed Federal boxes of 20 for $7.49 a box I bought at Palmetto State Armory today when I stopped by their store isn't seconds or rejects. XXXXXXXXXXXM193 is military reject ammo, hence the X This is demonstrably false. Stop posting it in this forum. |

Not saying this is the case, but that sounds suspiciously like chamber/headspace issues. I'm not even going to ask about other ammo..... just sayin'. |
