I just picked up 200 rds of RA223R2 64gr SP  (lot #A1EK41) for SHTF/HD and noticed that the bullets were not seated consistantly.  Some had the entire cannelure showing while some were seated to mid cannelure, and others diddn't have the cannelure showing at all.  Is this typical of this type of ammunition?  Also what kind off issues could this cause.

It appears the cannelure is not at the same spot on each of the bullets. OAL appears to be the same.

Not typical in my experience.
For plinking ammo I might just shoot it, but I would more likely send it back.
I would not find this acceptable for SHTF/HD/hunting ammo.

I've got 6 boxes of this stuff and your post made me take a look at all of 'em (even unloaded two 20 rd mags.. lol). Mine all appear to be seated properly at the canelure.  The short seating I wouldn't worry about as long as they feed from your mags, and if that pic represents the deepest seating you found I don't think it'll be a problem. Looks like a lot that was maybe run early on a Monday morning after a Bears game though. Bad QC there. Can't hurt to contact Winchester and ask for replacements. That ammo isn't exactly cheap.
