Can someone explain the advantage or disadvantage of a truncated bullet?  I found the Fiochi ad about the 357  142gr  FMJTC round.  Never shot any of it and would like to know about this type of bullet.

No idea of the advantages or disadvantages, but I shot this stuff all the time and like it.  Shoots well.

Truncated cone is a compromise between a wadcutter, which makes nice round holes for target shooting, and a round-nose bullet, which feeds better.  They're also sometimes called semi wadcutters (SWC).

So I can assume that they are good for range use and no advantage to self defense.
