| If something ever does happen would it be better to have xm855 or m193 Ammo or something cheaper so I can buy more? things to keep in mind: reliability, cost per round, repeatable accuracy, and due to cost per round how much I will be able to store up. If not 855 or 193 then what else? |

Do a little site search. Then read the Ammo FAQ and Ammo Oracle at the top of this forum. But me personally, I have plenty of XM193 stashed. My rifles shoot Brown Bear just as well, too. Pretty much any .223 will do in a true TEOTWAWKI scenario. If I was rich I'd pack away 1K or so of Hornady TAP. |

If TSHTF those who have shot more ammo and are more proficient will have better shot placement and that trumps a fancy bullet or a better velocity.
That said the cheapest ammo per round delivered is the M193 IMI from Wideners at $318.00 for a 1200 round case. 2 cases shipped comes to $665.00 which is 27 cents per round delivered. IMI M193 rated #3 in Molon's accuracy test of military ammo behind IMI M855 and Winchester Ranger M855. I prefer the better tissue damage of the M193 over the M855 but to each their own. My self defense magazines have IMI M855 alternating with Privi 75gr HP match but again,, shot placement. because we all know the Mayans said 2012 is it and who can question the Mayans I have stepped up training and plan to shoot 12-15K of ammo this year. I plan on being the best I can be or at least not as crappy as I used to be. Wulfmann |

210 rds of barrier blind ammo That should get me to the F.O.B. I dont see buying a huge stock unless you lived way out in the country Instead of surpusl M193/M855 Might look into Black Hills Blue box Soft Point or OTM ME: How so? Having 200 rounds of premium ammo vs. 1,000 rounds of m855 or m193. At some point, that premium ammo will run out. I'd rather have crappy ammo left for a fight than nothing at all. YOU: I have way more than 200rds of premium ammo. Anyway again do yourself a big favor and read what Dr.Roberts has to say. Thats all I can help you with. I vote for ending the topic! So, you have 10 more rounds of premium ammo in this thread and way more in my thread? |

I suggest you read: I have some M193 and will buy more for plinking/range use, but will stock up on something like this for SHTF. From what I have read, it appears barrier blind is the way to go.

| I live out in the country too, so what I plan to do is get around 200-300 rounds of the Black Hills 5.56mm 50gr TSX, and make the rest of my stash IMI M193. I also have a small amount of some M262 and 75gr TAP FPD for my Mk12, and some IMI M855, but the bulk of my stash will consist of M193 or an equivalent 55gr FMJ. |

Do they have the same POI OP look into MK318. Great ammo, and it does very well in comparison to M855 and M193 on flesh. |
