Hi! I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I'm a 22 year old college student at Illinois State. I got into shooting back in 2006 after being raised in a home where weapons where largely considered to be a "no no" by both my mother and father. (I've since converted the father with skeet shooting. still working on the mother.) I'm getting married in July of 2012 and my Fiancee is VERY supportive of the shooting habit. (She often complains that I don't own enough guns.) Anyways now that the short background is out of the way on to more pressing matters...

Today I bought some ammo that I'm not entirely familiar with as to the value, quality or reliability of the aforementioned ammo. I payed $500 for 500 rounds of American Eagle .38 Special, 500 rounds of American Eagle .357 Soft Point, 50 rounds of Blazer 9mm Makarov hollow point, a box of 50 Norinco 9mm Makarov, a box of 16 9mm Makarov that only says it's made in russia at Tula and was imported by B-West, and a nailed shut case of 1200 rounds of Norinco 7.62x39.

My questions regarding these are directed towards the Norinco Ammo and the mystery Russian 9mm Makarov. I've got Pictures here (sorry for the crappy webcam photos, can't find my real camera.)

The Norinco 9mm Makarov comes in a Green Box and the headstamp is "71    93"

The mystery 9mm Makarov comes in a small cardboard box and the headstamp is "9X18MM B-West"

The Norinco 7.62x39 comes in a yellow box and the headstamp is "311    93"

Is the ammo safe to shoot? Is it decent quality? What's the ammo worth?

Thanks!

(EDIT: Now with working pictures!)

No idea on the value, but it should all be safe to shoot.  Norinco is Chinese, that's all good to go.  Tula is a big ammunition manufacturer in Russia, I'm sure their 9x18 is fine.  All that import stuff might be a bit dirty, but it'll be fine to shoot.  That Norinco 7.62x39 might be something of a rarity these days, none of that stuff can be imported anymore.

I've shot a lot of the 9X18 from " B-West" importer. I haven't had any problems with it at all other than the powder burns dirty.  It is corrosive primed. I have shot a lot of corrosive ammo and use Hoppe's powder solvent to clean with and never had any corrosion problems. B-West I believe is no longer in business.  MC
