Picked up a couple boxes to plink with when I noticed they changed the bullet to a round design. It looks similar to what Remington puts on their green box .223. The previous XM193 I've been shooting purchased several years ago appears to have a spec bullet with a sharp spitzer style. When did they
change? While this is plinking ammo, I've read that down range performance, accuracy & terminal performance can be effected. |

Do you still have the boxes showing the lot numbers. I sure as hell hope they don't go to that gay ass bullet style Remington UMC uses. If they do then all my XM193 ammo will be PMC. |

Please put up a pic, I haven't seen any other reports of XM193 using a different bullet. Are you sure you're not comparing it to M855? That stuff is "pointier" than 55gr M193. No, its XM193. The ogive looks the same but the tip is blunt. I'll open the other box tonight to see if they are the same. I'am still working on processing pictures on internet. The only other explanations would be they pushed the tip in during the swaging or loading processes.

Does frangible .556 have a blunt tip? Could this ammo be misspacked? Its FMJ although its blunt enough to be HP or other expanding ammo. I looked at the ammo closer last night. I'm leaning towards a manufacturing issue such as the tip was flattened during the seating or bullet swaging process. There is slight bell just below the bullet tip. |

The last Batch of canned LC M855 I bought groups like shit. I rather buy Black Hills Blue 55gr etc for now on for range use For stocking up for SHTF?? I will stick with Quality Barrier Blind loads |
