is there a proper way to store ammo or can i just throw a bunch of rounds in a big ziplock? i want to get rid of the boxes

zippys will do. the main thing is that they are protected from the elements. ammo cans are much cooler though

they will be in an ammo can but i am trying to fit 1000 rounds into on can. and boxes take up to much space.

Not really.

Buy some ammo cans.
As the name indicates, they're cans for ammo.
