Since it's getting harder and harder to find MK262 I need some help finding and alternative. I was using MK262 out of an 18" SPR,  the gun is exceptionally accurate with this ammo.

So what else is out there that I should consider?

since they're using the same SMK bullet, how does the Fiocchi Exacta 77gr compare to the Mk262?

Not to hijack but what is the optimal usage of this round? Will it expand? And what is the optimal barrel twist for it?  Thanks for any help.

Fiocchi 77 grain Exacta

This Fiocchi load uses the 77 grain Sierra MatchKing (without a cannelure.)  The load is charged with ball powder.  From the 20” Colt barrel, this load had a muzzle velocity of 2549 fps with a standard deviation of 16 fps.  This is a little on the slow side for this particular category of ammunition, however since this is intended to be a “target load”, velocity is not a crucial factor at shorter distances.

A 10-shot group fired from 100 yards from a Krieger barreled AR-15 with a 1:7.7” twist, had an extreme spread of 0.995”.

Though it hasn't had much fanfare here that I know of HSM ammo now has a 5.56 loading of 77 gr SMK complete with cannelure and most likely crimped, may even be sealed at primer and case mouth.
Buffalo Bore has a hot load with 77 smk.

Thanks Molon

Been dying for that one

OP

I found  Black Hills Blue box 77gr  close to the BH white box 5.56mm 77gr

77 blue box doesnt have a cann and maybe  200fps slower

On the other hand I never had any  feed trouble or bullet set back with the BH blue 77

SMK 77gr bullet  would be good for LR Targets & or shooting BG when barriers aint a problem
The 77gr SMK can Frag
Twist 1/8 & 1/7

Check out  ATK they have a down load with gel testing of the 77gr smk bullet
BTW same 77gr bullet but not the MK262 NATO pressure
But it will give you some idea
also ckeck above tacked threads
