I've got about 300 rds. of Tulia .223. Don't want to get into a pissing match about the quality of Tulia ammo.
The issue I have is, as I was loading a mag today I opened a box of ammo and found a round with the primer in backwards!
Not wanting to waste, My first thought was to pull the round with my inertia puller and make a dummy out of it with some silicone for a primer.
Then it occured to me that if the primer is in backwards, what effect will banging away with the inertia puller have?
Am I better just to throw that round in the lake?

The inertia puller won't cause the primer to go off-there is NOTHING to push on the anvil in your situation.

its not a grenade

if your that puss about it, drop some water on the primer before you pull it.

Ever had a round blow up in your face? I didn't think so, and I'm not real keen on having one go off in my face, tough guy.

Might as well just chuck it, it's a 20 cent round... not worth the time/effort/potential doctor bills...

primer can be killed easily in your situation with liquid

a soak in WD-40 will render the primer inert.

WD-40 won't phase that primer.  Try it and see.  It is HARD to kill a primer-VERY HARD.  I've tried with solvents, lubricants, even bleach.  I haven't yet been successful.

Copy that. The more I think about this, the more I think I'm going to spend $10.00 worth of effort to save buying a $4.00 snap cap at the gunshow. Probably part of  that "But look at the money I saved!!!" thing. I'll throw it in the lake next time I drive by. Thanks, guys
