Recently moved, ammo is stored in my garage.
Lately outside temps around 100deg. Inside garage goes up to 85deg. Humidity is very low out here. Is this temp ok for long term storage? Thanks, Mike |

id put it in air tight .50 and .30cal ammunition cans to control the humidity. maybe add dissicant jel packs
I'd keep it in your basement if you have one, thats one place that stays almost constant temperature for long term storage. A cool dry place. Keep it off the ground if there is any chance of a flood, so you can move it before its underwater. |
| Consistent temperatures, even if they're rather high, are OK. Your garage should be fine, but I concur that you should keep the ammo in GI cans with good seals. I don't go for desiccant myself, I just make sure I put stuff in the cans indoors, in air conditioning, which establishes a pretty consistent humidity for the air in the can anyway. |

All ammo is in military ammo cans with good seals.
Humidity is extremely low, out West here, 5% to 15%. No chance of any flooding. Mainly wondering if a high of 85deg is acceptable for long term storage, or do i consider air conditioning the space. Thanks again, Mike |

Thanks again, Mike You realize that in Southwest Asia they have ammo stored without air conditioning, right? And that for most of the 20th century there was no air conditioning but the Army still stored ammo wherever they happened to be? Basically, if you wantto set up an air conditioned space for your ammo, go ahead, but it's not needed. |
