Got a Cabelas flyer in the mail the other day. Had an ad for Tula .223 for 500 rds for $115. Steel cased, poymer coated.
Anyone tried it? seems like decent cheap blasting ammo. Or is it Wolfs bastard cousin? |
| I'm pretty sure the Tula plant is the same plant that wolf is made in.http://wrigleyammo.com/catalogammunition/rifle-ammunition-223556-c-21_22.html |

This is the plant that makes Wolf Black Box ammo-which also means that the Tula-branded ammunition is likely to be Boxer primed and thus reloadable. Read the ComBloc Ammo FAQ for lots more interesting info on who makes what. |

I just got 2K rounds dropped off yesterday from Cabela's. The 4 dry boxes they sent with the ammo are a pretty nice bonus for $214 per K.
Hopefully I'll get out to shoot some of it in the next week or two, I forsee no problems since my AR's eat wolf like candy. |

Does it leave that nasty Wolf smell? Mine did I'd expect that most Tula-loaded ammo uses basically the same powders...which would mean that there's likely the same amount of soot left behind as well. Is that the case? its not as bad as some surplus ive shot but it is dirty like wolf , i shot another 200rds today and i can not smell it but you might be able to |
