Every time I go into Bass Pro in Concord, NC they have plenty and I always leave with 10-12 boxes.

CCI Velocitor is a newer version of Stinger.  Perhaps you could find those.

Velocitor and Stinger are different loads and both are current production.

OP- you are not missing much by not finding Stingers. They are not accurate.

i have found that all of the stingers i've shot has a waxy coat on the bullet and some of the casing, caused a few FTE's that made me look at them closer. i've been wiping every round down a patch, clear greenish tint waxy stuff

Sometimes Dick's Sporting Goods has it in stock.  It shoots just fine in my NAA Mini .22LR revolver, so accuracy is a moot point

Yes, they can be hard to find.  I try to keep a couple of bricks on hand at all times.  They are very useful for skunks.  I shoot them at close range in the a$$ hole and  it blows the muscles up in that area and prevents spraying "perfume", its the only thing that i have found to work. Stingers are very accurate in my gun averaging 1.25" @ 120 yds. I've used them on  fox and dogs to great success.  They are not for deep penetration as when you want to kill a hog or beef. I like em!!!!

Hell, thats my deer hunting round. It seconds as my personal defense round lol.

CCI's are my favorite all time .22lr. Mainly because their casings are a little stronger than bulk packs and seem never to split when using an auto-loading mousegun, which I have issues with the cheap cheap .22s.

Got a hell of a pop too

Edit- Oh yea, the reason you can't find them is because you live in California.

Not accurate?  CCI stingers/mini mags and winchester super x premium (i think that's what they are, i could be wrong) are the only .22's I shoot.  Zero issues, great accuracy.  Contrary to an above poster's comment, I live 5 minutes from Bass Pro in Concord and I have never seen stingers there.  They do get mini mags often though.  I have scored most of mine from Wal-Mart.

You could also try Remington Yellow Jackets or Aguila Super Maximum. Check ammunitiontogo.com or midwayusa.com

+1 for Velocitors.  Way better than the Stingers.

Reminton ammo sucks.  Lots of FTF and the shitty cardboard box that once you take out one round, they're all fucked up in there.

CCI stingers kick major ass, never once a failure of any kind (in my experience) and the plastic boxes are cool as hell.

Can't speak ot the Aguilas as I've never touched one.

I checked Midway and Natchez and they are both out of stock.

My wally world south of Tampa has them $6 something per 100, and Fed bulk packs for the first time in two years  $15.50

The velicitors and the stingers are two different rounds.... The velicitor is a small game round (won't blow up critters too much), the stinger is a varmint round (will blow up critters quite a bit).

I like Stingers but they don't like the match barrel on my 10/22.  The longer case causes the bullet to engage the lands when chambered.

Several of my local WalMart stores have gotten a bunch of Stingers in within the past month... may be worth checking the stores in your area.

I still think the best all-around .22LR ammo is the CCI Mini-Mag HP rounds- 36gr I think.

Very reliable and not too pricey.

I was using accuracy as a relative term and my experience is that rimfires vary widely by barrel in ammunition preference. A previous poster claimed 1.25 minutes out to 100y with stingers. Not that I doubt him, but out of multiple target rigs I have never been able to produce less than 4 minutes at that distance with stingers. For distances <50M they are fine for starlings and groundhogs. When compared to S&K for example, I find Stingers to be inaccurate.  They also chamber very hard in most of my rimfires.
