It's not like we're going to reload it and need to decap the stuff. And some people do reload the stuff. It is boxer primed and it is good for reloading a couple of times at least, compared to brass which can be reloaded quite a few times depending on how hot you load it. |

From your picture, you are comparing "Wolf" (made at Tula) and Ulyanovsk...
As has already been mentioned, "Wolf" is only a trademark name. Ammunition from a variaty of manufacturers can be found in "Wolf" boxes. Some people want the primers sealed, and sealed or not makes no difference when decapping for reloading... Interesting that Uly is now also making boxer primed steel cases. Last time I looked, only Tula was making them. 1DD |

The only caliber currently made in Ulyanovsk is 7.62x39. It is imported in the US under brands Wolf, Herters, Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works and Tula Cartridge Works, all actually made in Ulyanovsk factory. That's right, Ulyanovsk made ammu partially imported under Tula Cartridge Works name.
Tula cartridge Works currently manufactures and exports to the US all the calibers, but 7.62x39. Their .223, .308, 7.62x54R, .30 Carbine, 9x19, .40S&W, .45ACP, are imported under the brands Wolf, Herters and Tula Cartridge Works. |

I didn't even bother looking at the case head stamp that the OP posted. That's an Ulyanovsk head stamp on the Tula ammo. I just figured that it was Tula made - looks like I'll have to update that part of the FAQ. |
