I'm noticing thousands of Mini Mags at stores now. Gander Mountain and my local fun store had a fat shelf full, but at $10 a box!!

not a bad price all things considered....a brick of CCI Blazers or American Eagle HPs cost more than than 5 of those mini mags on store shelves around here!

Thanks for the tip. BTW, those are the solids, not HP. Still a good buy.

ATG has Remington Yellow Jacket 33gr. HPs for $39.95/500.

My experience with all the above ammo:   Remington = sucks

the CCI's shoot well in about anything, but never shoot awesome.  Amercial Eagle AE22 shoots better then CCI in every rifle I've compared.  American Eagle 5022 (I think that is the right number)  shoots a bit better then CCI in most guns but really shines in a few.  CCI blazer consistently a bit better the mini-mags.    I also like centurion a bit better then minimags.

I am talking mini mags purchased in the last couple years.  I think they were better in the past.  fresh production? I don't know i quit buying them in favor of the others.   I stock up on bulk pack Federal for goofing off and AE22 for better shooting.  Wolf 22 ammo is top notch, comes from Germany, but is more expensive.

I recently bought 5k rounds (over a period of a month) of CCI Mini-Mags from Wal-Mart for $6.40 a box of 100, so that price is on par if you include shipping.

I have to second the above poster on his ammo choices.  I bought 8 boxes of Golden Bullets, on sale, for my sons to blast with...and the accuracy was okay, but reliability wasn't top notch.  The American Eagle is good stuff, and fairly cheap for the 500 round bricks.  The Federal AutoMatch runs good, and they come in 325 bulk packs....then you have the various match rounds from Federal, ELey, Wolf and Aguila that are all top notch.

I generally prefer jacketed ammo, so I prefer AE22 over AE5022. Both are good.

In case it helps anyone:  in my post  i wasn't very clear on how these two compare to each other.  AE22 shoots very well in every rifle I tested.  here is what I would expect between these two:  take 10 different rifles and shoot groups.  all 10 will shoot very well with the AE22.  A couple will not like the 5022 very well (group size)  but at least one will be very impressive with the 5022.   But the average of 10 rifles the AAE22 is going to come out better.

So if buying for multiple rifles or unknown rifles AE22 is a sure bet.

oh, and Federal 510,  used to be in a red box now Game Shock.  I have not used it since they put it in the blue game shock box, but I assume nothing changed other then the box.  Anyway, 510 does not group well in any rifle I have fired it in.  I would prefer it to anything Remington, and the cheap winchester,  but otherwise don't like it.
